Outsider Perspective

The work exhibited here is influenced by cultural occasions that occurred while travelling around Ireland and my stay in Dublin as an “outsider”. It revolves around temporary moments that are captured through photography of people in their respective environments. The paintings depict how the subject or subjects interact between themselves and the environment. The colour palettes have a tendency to be warm, this is to show a homely and warm feeling similar to what I feel back home in Portugal. All the depictions are purely my opinion, experiences and also my evolution as a person and an artist in this country. The figures, objects and landscapes in the paintings are deliberately simplified so the viewer can enjoy the composition and colour without being overwhelmed by detail.
