My art practice focuses on distorted portraits. I am interested in the different ways a face can be manipulated. I am fascinated with plastic surgery and the reasons behind wanting to get these procedures done. I want to get a message across to my viewers that social media is portraying this image of ‘perfection’ and it is not real. As a young woman in today's society, I am aware of the pressures put on us to look more attractive. Therefore I distort the faces of young women and magazine images of models as a means to destroy that sense of perfection.
