My work is about crowds and my personal feelings towards them. I wanted to convey the uncomfortable and awkward feelings I have in crowded situations.
I was interested in the body and the weight of the human form and how it occupies a space. I wanted the figures in my work to look heavy and to have a sense of naivety in the way they were represented. I wanted the figures to look awkward in the space.
