My approach to painting is informed by an interest in Irish folklore and mythology as a source of imagery which is inflected with humour and a sense of the surreal. The images I try to create are a combination of personal references, as well as totemic objects and folkloric motifs which are repurposed to find new stories in a multi-hued, dreamlike, phantasmagorical space.
