My project revolves around the phenomenon of attraction and repulsion. I am interested in the reaction people have when they view something that makes them uncomfortable. I have used unusual objects and subject matter in my collection such as animal bones, and human bite marks.
The subject matter is somewhat hidden in some of my pieces, encouraging viewers to “lean in” to view my work.
I have focused on sterling silver as my main material in my collection, because I feel it creates the most contrast between my pieces. I have used processes such as electro etching, CAD design through Rhino and Sculptris, and casting.
