Through Body, A Translation

My practice is primarily concerned with capturing a feeling through subtleties. Exploring how to experience space though my body, my work is a tactile thought process on what it means to be in a body at the centre of this dualism. It imagines bodily experience as the ultimate jigsaw and aims to capture how the boundaries between ourselves and the wavering atmospheric body outside us, shift alongside each other and interact.
By incorporating simple shapes and lines into my work, I create situations that make the viewer consider space through their bodies. The lines and interaction between objects become embedded in the surface, asking the viewer to surrender to its suggestions and movements.
The relationship between the objects in the space are propositional. I employ materials that invite you to physically engage with them, to break or make a surface tension apparent. This exchange between the body and the materials is integral to the process.
