A Desert Memoir

My project aims to convey the sense of awe that I have felt visiting the deserts of California and Arizona. These spaces are my idea of Utopia – they are other worldly and where I feel most free, relaxed and content. These places are still very much untouched and so Mother Nature is still very much in charge. I am drawn to the scale, the unusual textures and the way in which the colours of such spaces interact and change depending on the light at different parts of the day. I think everyone has their Utopia, their ideal place to escape to and I’m lucky to have experienced mine and am planning to make my Utopia my reality in the years to come.
