Xplor

Travelling can be a stressful and confusing experience for people on the autistic spectrum, with many avoiding using public transport altogether. ‘Xplor’ is a navigation tool designed to encourage independent travel for young adults with autism.
Xplor combines the senses of touch, hearing and sight, making it the least stressful journey for the user based on the user's sensory strengths. Many young adults on the autistic spectrum have a great connection with gaming and technology. Adopting this aesthetic as part of the design, Xplor can be noticeable as a positive sensory experience.
Using audio technology and visual aids, Xplor allows the user, friend or family member to map out their journey sending audio of their choice from the Xplor app to the Xplor device, encouraging more people on the autistic spectrum to travel Independently.
