‘Once an Immigrant, always an Immigrant’ looks at various aspects of Polish emigration. One project focuses on Polish diaspora in Ireland. ‘Dispersion Publication’ is the exploration of the Polish culture and social beliefs and the introduction of the culture to a new audience by focusing on the history of Polish migration to Ireland and the reasons behind it. The second project, ‘Reverse Culture Shock: Zine Collection’, is based on the issue of culture shock and reverse culture shock, that many immigrants are experiencing. The content of the zines have been gathered through a series of interviews. The third part of the project is based on Ponglish, Moving Posters. #Ponglish, the product of mixing Polish and English language elements within a single speech production, or the use of “false friends”. When Polish phrases that do not properly translate into English are translated literally, they have humorous outcomes.
