TandemTales

Sport is not about competition. It is about joy. ‘TandemTales’ is a UX design project for a sport app that explores design for behaviour change. This cycling app is designed for the Apple watch and aims to provide fun cycling experiences for urban explorers.
Most sport apps connected with smart watches focus on data and on competition. What if these apps are overlooking users who want to exercise, but who don’t like feeling pressured by an app? The concept of this app is: sport for its own sake. The target audience are people who don’t like sport, but do want to exercise. They quite like cycling but their friends are never free when they are and cycling on their own is not fun. What if a neighbour took them in hand and showed them around the district?
TandemTales offers interesting routes for two-wheeled urban explorers. Each route is presented by a podcast created by an inhabitant of the district. On foot or cycling, the users are invited to put on their headphones and enjoy the exercise.
