Trees – a calm oasis in the city

Sometimes we spend our life rushing, so much that we neglect to stop and look at the beauty of nature around us. Trees and green areas provide a welcome oasis in the city. This was my inspiration. I wanted to capture these little oases in the city. Their calmness, their beauty in the mid-winter and spring light. Most of these paintings were done during the Covid-19 Lockdown and somehow it was reassuring to know that nearly all of the trees depicted had stood through two world wars, a civil war, a polio epidemic as well as a typhus epidemic, and still they strongly stand.
