‘Brut’ is a multimedia collaborative project that aims to promote the importance of creativity in the everyday, through the work of untrained artists – otherwise known as Brut artists.
In forming a working art collective, and engaging through email with a musician in Texas, the project explores various methods of making and pays close attention to process – in doing so, it reveals the accessibility of creativity, while displaying the work of three modern day Outsider artists.
Furthermore, the project’s approach promotes mindfulness and the positive effect it has on mental health. Creativity is an integral part of us all that should be used as a tool to better understand ourselves, and to maintain and enhance our mental and physical wellbeing.
