Candid

‘Candid’ is a service based around substance misuse prevention, but it also would serve as an educational tool for any sensitive topic. It can be used by social care practitioners trying to engage a group of young adults for educational purposes. It enables you to host a workshop for groups of young adults ranging from ten to one hundred in number.

The main insight that came from my research, was the need for a way young adults could air their issues anonymously, but also to allow the social care practitioner to offer them direct advice. Anonymity protects the young adults from any repercussions, it also removes stigma, fear and anxiety about asking personal questions. The setting of the workshop allows for an open group discussion on all issues brought up, disseminating knowledge, useful resources and guidance directly.

Candid provides a way of offering support to young people for issues that they wouldn't originally be able to reach out about.
