Segue

The ‘Segue’ collection is a woven three dimensional and pleated textile collection created for the interior upholstery of concept cars.
With a natural inclination to build using three dimensional forms as a starting point for my projects and a constant pull towards relief surfaces, I knew I would want to implement these qualities into my fabrics going forward.
A common thread that emerged through my research with automotive representatives was the stance that, in the future, cars would become more like travelling lounge rooms equipped with control panels, rather than the manual driving experience we have become accustomed to.
They predicted that the interior design of the car will come to the forefront of the car's overall desirability; that it will overtake the car’s body and exterior appearance as the prime focus.
‘Segue’ pre-empts how increasingly sophisticated and intricately engineered approaches to material technologies will be employed in the interior upholstery of concept cars.
