'Blocking' is a project inspired by Dublin’s current culture crisis and how it’s effecting theatre production in the city.
The outcome, entitled 'Prompt' includes a typographic poster series giving a voice to an abandoned theatre space called Eblana Theatre. The statements reminisce about a time when theatre was thriving in Dublin and questions why the relationship has faded. Included in this outcome is the identity design for Eblana Theatre, reimagining it as centre for arts, culture and youth in the city.
'Discounted' is an outcome that includes an installation made of signs inspired by sale tags. It brings to light how undervalued theatre makers are, especially now in the current state Covid-19 has our nation in.
The final outcome, 'Blocking' includes a zine designed to benefit someone wanting to create theatre at home or outside of a traditional theatre space because they either are not able to obtain a space or mass indoor gatherings are not feasible.
