‘Holocene’ is a primarily constructed and knitted, but also printed textile collection aiming to represent the element of water in all of its beauty and ever-changing nature as well as showcasing a form of non-verbal communication through wearables in modern performance art and dance. The collection draws strength from pairing nature with technology, which seems to be an omnipresent paradox the human race strives for without fully understanding it.
An interest in the future of fashion, high technology textiles, and the love for water drove and inspired this project. By experimenting with new, unusual and smart materials, the textiles are reactive and adjustable in a sense of changing in shape, size or colour.
While promoting water and the importance and beauty of our natural surroundings, the collection is an outlook on the future of textiles and fashion.
