Service animals are animals that have been trained to perform a series of tasks that benefit the person using the animal. There are different types of service animals that help people in a number of ways, from guide dogs (that help blind people navigate), to bio-detection animals (animals that use their sense of smell to detect substances and illnesses). So any animal that is picked to go into training and become a certified service animal may have the potential to be of aid to anyone.
This project focuses on those who volunteer to foster puppies that have the potential to become certified service animals. This is an important role because this is the longest phase in the training of a service animal, and those who volunteer should be appreciated for taking their time to not only provide a home for a trainee puppy, but to help train and take care of it.
